Program Comprehension Technology

Panaya operates cutting-edge program comprehension technology, which is able to read programs, understands the way they work internally and helps implementers, developers and other SAP professionals to perform their tasks better. Panaya's program comprehension technology utilizes a multi-layered approach to provide a comprehensive system analysis.

The major layers are:

Program Flow Analysis: The lower layer of the program comprehension technology reads the SAP standard code and the user's own code in order to study the SAP system behavior. It transforms the program text into graphs that represent the flow from the SAP customization tables to the SAP system functional behavior.

Customization Analysis: This layer reads the SAP standard customization tables values and propagates these customization values throughout the programs. This enables Panaya to identify how the SAP system works for a specific customer and a precise process flow of the user's system is revealed.

Program Knowledge Visualization: The results of the Program Flow Analysis and the Configuration Analysis are translated by the Program Knowledge Visualization layer into easy to understand, intuitive and visual results in a list or layout form that is familiar to SAP professionals. Although all the analysis is done on the SAP code, you do not need programming knowledge in order to understand the results.

Ranking and Redundancy Elimination: Prioritizing the results of affected components enables the customer to allocate time and resources effectively. Results that are similar in nature are aggregated into groups and only a representative is displayed in order to help the user to identify key affected components and to prioritize with ease.

Panaya communicates with its users in a non-technical and visual language, which is based on concepts and terms familiar to SAP professionals: transactions, screens, user exits, and IMG (Implementation Guide) customization screens.

No Learning Curve

Panaya’s user interface is process-oriented and wizard-based. Each screen provides the user with single self-explanatory decision path. All screens are accompanied by inline explanations or demonstration videos.
